Regional Sport Victoria Board Announces Resignation of Executive Officer

The Board of Regional Sport Victoria (RSV) announces that Executive Officer Meghan Mayman has resigned from her role, with her last day being Wednesday, 14 August.

The Board extends its gratitude to Meghan for her significant contributions to RSV, including advancements in governance, operations, and brand awareness. Her efforts have strengthened collaborations across the sector culminating in the successful delivery of many ongoing projects, including eight Sport and Recreation Victoria funded Together More Active projects. The partnerships developed with RSV and its members, the Regional Sports Assemblies (RSAs) will make regional community sport more accessible and sustainable.

The Board acknowledges Meghan’s dedication and leadership.

“Meghan has done incredible work during her tenure at the helm of RSV, working hard to deliver new projects and shine a light on regional sport, including the challenges we face and the strength and resilience of our communities,” said Carissa Harris, Chair of the RSV Board. “It has been such a pleasure working with you Meghan, thank you. We will miss you but on behalf of the Board, wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”

Interim Arrangements

In light of Meghan’s departure, Dan Poynton, current Executive Officer of GippSport and Deputy Chair of the RSV Board, will provide interim executive support to RSV.

Dan brings over 20 years of experience in the community sport sector, with extensive qualifications in business, sports management, Not for Profit Governance, and Executive Coaching. Dan will be taking a leave of absence from the Board to take on this role.

The Board is confident that Dan’s leadership will ensure a seamless transition as we undertake the recruitment process for a new Executive Officer, which we anticipate will take 3-6 months.

“The ongoing support of sport and active recreation across the many, many regional communities of Victoria are at a critical juncture. We look forward to finding the next leader to drive our important advocacy work and championing regional sport,” added Carissa Harris.

The Board remains confident in the future of RSV and is committed to its ongoing success. Our focus will continue to be on advancing the strategic direction of the organisation, supporting and championing regional sport, and ensuring that RSV remains a strong advocate for the Regional Sports Assemblies and regional communities.

Further updates regarding the recruitment process and organisational developments will be provided in the coming weeks.
