Regional Sport Victoria (RSV) Announces Public Launch of New Strategic Plan
Regional Sport Victoria (RSV) is excited to announce the public launch of its new Strategic Plan, setting the direction for the future of regional community sport across Victoria. The plan is the culmination of extensive consultation and development, aimed at strengthening regional sport and recreation, empowering Regional Sport Assemblies (RSAs) and enabling more inclusive, sustainable, and impactful opportunities for communities across the state.
The development of the strategic plan was led by RSV in collaboration with key stakeholders across the sector. RSV wishes to express its gratitude to the member RSAs for their active involvement and insightful contributions during the development phase. Their knowledge and understanding of regional sport and active recreation was pivotal in shaping a plan that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of local communities and the diverse needs of regional Victorians.
We are deeply appreciative of the support and feedback provided by our funding partners, Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and VicHealth, State Sporting Associations (SSAs) and other organisations that participated in the consultation process. Their input has helped ensure the strategic plan addresses the key challenges and opportunities facing regional sport today.
A special thank you is extended to consultant Anna Walker, From Now On, whose expertise and guidance were invaluable throughout the consultation and development process. Anna’s commitment to ensuring the plan is both responsive and future-focused has been critical to its success.
Carissa Harris, Chair of RSV, commented:
“We are thrilled to officially launch our new strategic plan and look forward to working with the sector to bring it to life. This is an exciting moment for RSV, and we are fully committed to activating the plan to create lasting positive change in regional communities. The input from our RSAs, SSAs and other key partners has been instrumental in the development of the plan, and we are grateful for their ongoing collaboration.”
“The next step for RSV is to explore funding opportunities that will enable us to activate and implement the plan in full. With the right support, we believe the strategy will not only strengthen regional sport governance and participation but also help build more connected, active, and resilient communities throughout Victoria.”
The launch of this Strategic Plan marks the beginning of an exciting journey for RSV, and we are eager to continue collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure the vision of the plan is realised. RSV is committed to making a tangible difference to regional sport and active recreation, creating a future where sport is accessible, inclusive and sustainable for all.
