Fair Access Upskill

The Fair Access Upskill helps people working across the regional Victorian community sport sector develop understanding and capabilities to support Fair Access policy roadmap implementation.

This course has been designed to support staff to access and complete all 4 modules anytime, anywhere, on any device.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion for completing the whole course.

  • Define gender equity and distinguish it from gender equality.
  • Understand the Gender Equality Act 2020 and its relevance to local government sport policy.
  • Recognise the social, economic, and community benefits of gender-equitable sport access.

  • Understand the six Fair Access Principles and their application.
  • Discover how local governments are implementing Fair Access policies.
  • Examine key statistics highlighting gender disparities in community sport.

  • Identify common resistance to gender equity initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to overcome objections and engage stakeholders.
  • Learn communication techniques to frame gender equity discussions effectively.
  • Understand the role of allies and active bystanders in promoting equity.
