Regional Sport Victoria – This Girl Can

For this year’s campaign, Regional Sport Victoria (RSV) will be actively supporting the incredible work of the This Girl Can (TGV) program, which aims to inspire and empower women and girls of all abilities and backgrounds to get active!

For too long, women have been led to believe that physical activity has been about ‘looking good’ rather than ‘feeling good.’ Now is the time for this to change. Regardless of background, experience, age or body shape, This Girl Can looks to celebrate women getting active.

We’re supporting this campaign so that women in regional Victoria can overcome these fears of being judged on appearance and have fun whilst being involved with our wonderful communities.

Around one in three women believe that sporting clubs are not welcoming people like them.

It’s up to us this week, with the help of This Girl Can, to showcase the best of what it means to be active in our communities.

RSV General Manager Meghan Mayman encouraged women in regional areas to try something new this week.

“This week is all about getting women and girls active. I encourage all women in regional Victoria to check out the activities available locally.
